Amarja Reservoir, located 11 km from Aland town, is a beautiful reservoir in Kalaburagi district, nestled amidst the hills. This reservoir was constructed in 1998 across the Amarja River near Koralli village. It is a tributary of the Bhima River, originating near Alur village in Umarga taluk of Osmanabad district of Maharashtra and joining the Bhima River near Gangapur in Afzalpur taluk. This reservoir, which is 960 meters long and 31.85 meters wide, covers an area of 53.095 thousand hectares.
By Road (Car or Taxi)
Distance: Around 42–45 km
Travel Time: Approximately 40 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic and route chosen.
Route:
Take State Highway 10 (SH-10) towards Aland — this is a direct, well-maintained route connecting Gulbarga (Kalaburagi) and Aland.
Once in Aland (≈42 km from Kalaburagi), continue onward to Korhalli village (~10 km), where the dam is located.
By Bus
There are daily bus services from Kalaburagi to Aland.
Duration: Around 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on stops and road conditions.
First bus: early—around 4:30 AM; last bus: evening (~9:30 PM).
Once in Aland, you may need to arrange local transport (rickshaw or shared auto) to reach Korhalli (≈10 km).
By Private Vehicle (Self-drive)
Route: SH‑10 via Aland, then onward to Korhalli.
Driving Duration: ~40–60 minutes to Aland, plus ~15–20 minutes to Korhalli.
