Sugur (K) village is located in a hilly area in Kalaburagi taluk, 47 km away from Kalaburagi. The Balaji (Venkataramana) temple here is a famous temple. It is believed by the people here that this is the place where Lord Vishnu descended to earth as Venkataramana and that Shiva and Parvati resided here and sanctified this place. It is mentioned in many religious texts that gods and goddesses and sages performed penance in this area surrounded by hills. And the amazing paddy growing on the Suvarnagiri hill here is the main attraction here. No one sows it or grows it, but it grows naturally here every year, which is piled up and distributed to the devotees to prepare prasad on Vaikuntha Dhwadashi. A fair is held here during Navratri, and special programs are held here for nine days. There is a special darshan here on Vaikuntha Ekadashi, people from the state and neighboring states visit here. Annual Kalyanotsava programs are held here,
